Mobimed — patient transport BaselPeople who drive people.
Behind every order is someone who rings the doorbell, pushes the stretcher and rides along in the lift. Here they are — at home in Basel, on the road throughout north-western Switzerland.

“Nothing is impossible!”
The motto — in German, “Geht nicht, gibts nicht!” — is written on our vehicles, and it is not an advertising slogan. It describes what happens every day in this job: a stairwell without a lift, a front door too narrow for the wheelchair, an appointment brought forward by an hour.
A patient transport is rarely just a driving problem. It is a timing problem, a space problem, sometimes a problem of fear. That is why our job does not end at the kerb — it ends where someone has arrived safely.
- One companion travels free of charge with every type of transport
- Second assistant, oxygen, stair chair and isolation on request
- Wheelchair, ramp and lift are part of our standard equipment

Responsibility has a name
Mobimed is a family business from Basel, not a branch network. When you call us, you speak to someone from our own team — and if you have a complaint, you do not end up in a phone queue but with the management.
The decision to be audited, as the first patient transport provider in north-western Switzerland, by the Swiss Interassociation for Rescue Services (IVR) was therefore not a marketing question. IVR recognition means that training, vehicles, hygiene and procedures are checked externally — every single year.

How a journey works
Five stages, from the phone call to the handover on the ward.

The booking comes in
By phone or via the form. We clarify what the journey requires: stretcher, wheelchair or seated, oxygen, a second assistant, isolation. These details determine which vehicle and which crew set off.
We are on site
The vehicle is there at the agreed time, with the ramp or lift extended before anyone has to go outside. Whoever is being picked up should not have to wait — least of all in the rain.
Boarding without transferring
In your own wheelchair up the ramp, on the stretcher or with support onto the seat. We do not lift you awkwardly from one seat to another unless we have to — every transfer is a risk, and uncomfortable too.
Everything is secured before we set off
Wheelchair in the four-point system, lap belt fastened, stretcher locked. It takes two minutes, and it is the part where we never cut corners. One accompanying person travels free of charge.
All the way to the ward, not just to the kerb
We take you inside — to reception, to the ward, to the waiting room. And if you wish, we will pick you up again after your appointment.

The seal is on the vehicle, not just in the brochure
“Approved Medical Transport” is not a self-declaration. The Swiss Interassociation for Rescue Services audits training standards, vehicle equipment, the hygiene concept and mission documentation — and enters recognised companies in a public register that anyone can consult.
Frequently asked questions about the company
How many employees does Mobimed have?
18 people work at Mobimed patient transport: the management, dispatch and administration, and the transport team. Our transport staff are trained to IVR level 3.
What does IVR level 3 mean?
The Swiss Interassociation for Rescue Services (IVR-IAS) grades training in the transport sector by level. Level 3 is the qualification for non-emergency medical transport: transport techniques, handling stretchers, wheelchairs and lifts, securing patients, hygiene and life-saving first aid including the defibrillator.
Who runs Mobimed patient transport?
The managing director is Goran Jovic. Mobimed Patiententransport GmbH is based at Hauptstrasse 114 in 4102 Binningen.
Do medical professionals work at Mobimed?
Our staff are trained for patient transport, not for emergency medicine. Mobimed only transports patients in a stable physical condition. Emergency care is provided by the ambulance service — in an emergency, dial 144.

This team is growing
If you like people, can get up early and are not put off by a stretcher: we train and we hire.

The first IVR-recognised patient transport service in north-western Switzerland
Recognition by the Swiss Interassociation for Rescue Services (IVR/IAS) is not a self-assessment but the result of an external audit of vehicles, equipment, training and procedures. Mobimed was the first patient transport provider in north-western Switzerland to receive it — and still holds it today.
