The essentials first
With our rehab transport, we take you to the rehabilitation clinic after a hospital stay and back home again afterwards – by stretcher, in a wheelchair or seated, with your luggage and aids. We also provide regular journeys to outpatient therapy, at fixed times if you wish.
Typical uses
- Admission to the rehabilitation clinic directly from the acute hospital
- Journey home after the rehabilitation stay
- Regular journeys to outpatient rehabilitation
- Journeys to physiotherapy and occupational therapy
- Rehabilitation clinics outside the region and abroad
The move to rehab is a fresh start
The move from hospital to a rehabilitation clinic comes at a time when a lot is happening at once: discharge, suitcases, documents, often pain as well. We collect you from the hospital, take care of your luggage, rollator or wheelchair and bring you all the way to the reception of the rehabilitation clinic.
Many rehabilitation clinics are located outside the city, so the journeys are correspondingly longer. We plan in breaks when necessary and drive calmly – the journey should not cost you more strength than necessary.
Back home – right into your flat
After rehab, coming home is a big step. We accompany you right into your flat, carry your luggage in and help you with stairs and thresholds. On request, a companion travels along free of charge.
Outpatient rehab at fixed times
If your rehabilitation takes place on an outpatient basis, we drive you to therapy and back on a regular basis. We set up recurring journeys on the same weekdays and at the same times, so you do not have to worry about anything.

Frequently asked questions: Rehab transport
Does my health insurer pay for the journey to rehab?
If the transport is medically necessary and prescribed by a doctor, basic health insurance (KVG) generally covers 50 per cent of the costs, limited to an annual maximum. Supplementary insurance often covers more. Please clarify this with your health insurer before the journey.
Can you drive me directly from hospital to the rehabilitation clinic?
Yes, this is the most common case. We collect you from the ward and bring you all the way to the reception of the rehabilitation clinic.
Do you also travel to rehabilitation clinics outside the region?
Yes. We travel to rehabilitation clinics throughout Switzerland and in neighbouring countries. Tell us the clinic and we will plan the time and route.
How much luggage can I take with me?
Luggage for a rehabilitation stay is no problem. When you book, let us know whether a wheelchair or rollator is also coming along.

The first IVR-recognised patient transport service in north-western Switzerland
Recognition by the Swiss Interassociation for Rescue Services (IVR/IAS) is not a self-assessment but the result of an external audit of vehicles, equipment, training and procedures. Mobimed was the first patient transport provider in north-western Switzerland to receive it — and still holds it today.
