Procedure

How the journey works

We collect you from your front door at the agreed time — lying down, in your own wheelchair or seated. In the hospital we accompany you to the admissions desk, the outpatient clinic or the ward. For outpatient appointments we wait if you wish and then take you straight back home. We bring your documents, walking aids and luggage with us.

A large hospital — we know the way

University Hospital Basel is the largest hospital in the region, with many clinics and outpatient departments under one roof. For patients who are not steady on their feet, even the distances inside the building are tiring. We do not just bring you to the entrance, but all the way to where your appointment is.

Mobimed is an independent transport service and is not part of Universitätsspital Basel. Please arrange appointments and medical questions directly with University Hospital Basel. In an emergency, dial 144 — Mobimed is not an emergency ambulance service.

Verified, not just claimed

The first IVR-recognised patient transport service in north-western Switzerland

Recognition by the Swiss Interassociation for Rescue Services (IVR/IAS) is not a self-assessment but the result of an external audit of vehicles, equipment, training and procedures. Mobimed was the first patient transport provider in north-western Switzerland to receive it — and still holds it today.
